Statements made by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden regarding the 9/11 terror attacks were edited out of his NBC Nightly News interview with Brian Williams Wednesday in what appears to be an attempt to bolster legitimacy for the agency’s controversial surveillance programs.

Only around a quarter of the recent NBC News interview with former intelligence contractor Edward Snowden made it to broadcast, but unaired excerpts now online show that the network neglected to air critical statements about the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
When the four-hour sit-down between journalist Brian Williams and Snowden made it to air on Wednesday night, NBC condensed roughly four hours of conversation into a 60-minute time slot. During an analysis of the full interview afterwards, however, the network showed portions of the interview that didn’t make it into the primetime broadcast, including remarks from the former National Security Agency contractor in which he questioned the American intelligence community’s inability to stop the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
In response to a question from Williams concerning a “non-traditional enemy,” Al-Qaeda, and how to prevent further attacks from that organization and others, Snowden suggested that United States had the proper intelligence ahead of 9/11 but failed to act.
“You know, and this is a key question that the 9/11 Commission considered. And what they found, in the post-mortem, when they looked at all of the classified intelligence from all of the different intelligence agencies, they found that we had all of the information we needed as an intelligence community, as a classified sector, as the national defense of the United States to detect this plot,” Snowden said. “We actually had records of the phone calls from the United States and out. The CIA knew who these guys were. The problem was not that we weren’t collecting information, it wasn’t that we didn’t have enough dots, it wasn’t that we didn’t have a haystack, it was that we did not understand the haystack that we have.”
“The problem with mass surveillance is that we’re piling more hay on a haystack we already don’t understand, and this is the haystack of the human lives of every American citizen in our country,” Snowden continued. “If these programs aren’t keeping us safe, and they’re making us miss connections — vital connections — on information we already have, if we’re taking resources away from traditional methods of investigation, from law enforcement operations that we know work, if we’re missing things like the Boston Marathon bombings where all of these mass surveillance systems, every domestic dragnet in the world didn’t reveal guys that the Russian intelligence service told us about by name, is that really the best way to protect our country? Or are we — are we trying to throw money at a magic solution that’s actually not just costing us our safety, but our rights and our way of life?
Indeed, the director of the NSA during Snowden’s stint there, Gen. Keith Alexander, reportedly endorsed a method of intelligence gathering in which the agency would collect quite literally all the digital information it was capable of.
“Rather than look for a single needle in the haystack, his approach was, ‘Let’s collect the whole haystack,’” one former senior US intelligence official recently told the Washington Post. “Collect it all, tag it, store it. . . .And whatever it is you want, you go searching for it.”
In recent weeks, a leaked NSA document has affirmed that under the helm of Alexander, the agency was told it should do as much as possible with the information it gathers: “sniff it all, know it all, collect it all, process it all and exploit it all,” according to the slide.
“They’re making themselves dysfunctional by collecting all of this data,” Bill Binney, a former NSA employee-turned-whistleblower himself, told the Daily Caller last year. Like Snowden, Binney has also argued that the NSA’s “collect it all” condition with regards to intelligence gathering is deeply flawed.
“They’ve got so much collection capability but they can’t do everything. They’re probably getting something on the order of 80 percent of what goes up on the network. So they’re going into the telecoms who have recorded all of the material that has gone across the network. And the telecoms keep a record of it for I think about a year. They’re asking the telecoms for all the data so they can fill in the gaps. So between the two sources of what they’ve collected, they get the whole picture,” Binney said.
Although NBC neglected to play Mr. Snowden’s remarks to Williams in which he questioned the efficiency of modern intelligence gathering under the guise of being a counterterrorism tool, it did air on television other remarks from the former contractor concerning the terrorist attacks.
“It’s really disingenuous for the government to invoke and sort of scandalize our memories to sort of exploit the national trauma that we all suffered together and worked so hard to come through to justify programs that have never been shown to keep us safe, but cost us liberties and freedoms that we don’t need to give up and our Constitution says we don’t need to give up,” he said in an excerpt broadcast on air.
BREAKING: 9/11 False Flag Validated in Edward Snowden NSA Data Dump 10
STATE OF THE NATION
Russia Disseminates, Snowden Validates, NSA Evidence Corroborates New 9/11 Data Dump
“This 9/11 data dump is so radioactive the US Government will likely collapse. The world will never be the same when nations everywhere see this report!”
– Veteran 9/11 Investigator
UPDATE: Published on Sep 30, 2014
By Preston James
This video was part of a longer clip in a recent VT Radio show, of which I’ve removed about 40 minutes, to focus on the section, which drills down to a now-infamous alleged Russian “data dump” shared with Gordon Duff, Senior Editor of Veterans Today about the “real” perpetrators and methods and means used in the 9/11 attacks.
This information was supposedly given to him to share to the public at-large, in reprisal for the US government’s economic sanctions against Russia, ever since Crimea and East Ukraine voted overwhelmingly to secede from the US-NATO-installed regime in Kiev, however, one veteran 9/11 researcher claimed on Pakalert Press: “This 9/11 data dump is so radioactive the US Government will likely collapse. The world will never be the same when nations everywhere see this report!”
Some names are familiar, others I’ve never been connected to these historic events. There are definitely many surprises, here – but it certainly makes more sense, on several levels, than the treasonous and absurd Official 9/11 Report.
Duff stops short of naming names, but their job descriptions give them away. What might be most shocking are how many names often associated with the attacks are absent, in what has been promised to be an ongoing series of similar Russian data dumps.
Last week, UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s call, during his address to the UN that, just as the murderous and “warped worldview” of ISIS must be stopped, so must the words and websites of peaceful 9/11 and 7/7 “Truthers,” which he termed to be just as dangerous as “Nazis or KKK recruiters,” as he unveiled a plan to use a full assault on dissenting views by forming a Commission to fight “So-Called Non-Violent Extremism,” while allowing that “Some will argue that this is not compatible with free speech and intellectual inquiry.”
Indeed: dangerous to the perpetrators. The coincidence of this toady’s statements with this data dump should not be lost on anyone.
When Edward Snowden opted to stay in Russia after fleeing the USA little did he know that the NSA treasure trove he absconded with would serve as the basis for so much 9/11 revelation. The existence of this extraordinary cache of NSA evidence documenting criminal activity conducted at the highest levels of government has empowered Russia to reveal 9/11 Truth with unimpeachable authority. Hence, the Kremlin now conducts periodic and strategic data dumps concerning the real facts surrounding the events of 9/11.
The Kremlin has permitted the release of earth-shattering material which is generally known on the internet as 9/11 Truth. The world is starving for such unvarnished and genuine truth in view of the fact that those false flag attacks have been systematically utilized by the real perpetrators to wage war against nations near and far.
That’s all about to change in 2014.
With the dissemination of the most recent round of 9/11 Truth, the guilty state actors have been painted into the corner … WITH NO WAY OUT. When a nation such as Russia, which possesses an intelligence apparatus second only to the USA, provides high integrity information and data pertaining to the 9/11 false flag operation, and Edward Snowden is backing it up with NSA-generated hard evidence, how can the real perps possibly squeeze out of that corner? *** Continue
MH370 kept hidden at top-secret US military base – media reports
According to one of the latest, unlike what Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak backed by his Australian counterpart Tony Abbott is claiming, the plane did not crash into the southern Indian Ocean but was captured.
MH370 could have been kidnapped to get to the technical brain-trust on board – 20 Freescale Semiconductor employees travelling to China. Freescale attracted attention because it is a Texas-based technology firm that develops components for hi-tech weapons systems and aircraft navigation among other things.
Interestingly, that leading innovative company has been oddly unwilling to provide information on the missing people. Only the nationalities of the employees were made public: 12 of them were from Malaysia and eight from China. However, Freescale has persistently declined to release their identities. “Out of respect for the families’ privacy during this difficult time, we will not be releasing the names of the employees who were on board the flight at this time,” Freescale spokeswoman Jacey Zuniga said.
Nevertheless, Mitch Haws, Freescale’s vice president, described them as “people with a lot of experience and technical background,” adding that “they were very important.” According to Reuters, the vanished employees were engineers or specialists involved in projects to streamline and cut costs at key manufacturing facilities in China and Malaysia.
Beforeitsnews.com alleged that “it is conceivable that the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 plane is “cloaked,” hiding with hi-tech electronic warfare weaponry that exists and is used. The website points out that that is the type of technology that Freescale Semiconductor develops.
Where were the people taken? Conspiracy theorists believe the passengers of flight MH370 are being held at Diego Garcia, a strategically important and secret US base near the Maldives. It is a remote island in the middle of the Indian Ocean and it has a runway long enough to land a Boeing 777. Could it have been a coincidence that this destination was programmed into the home flight simulator of captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, the pilot of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane?
According to the Daily Mail, residents of the Kuda Huvadhoo island, the Maldives, reported seeing a plane on the morning of the disappearance of MH370. Eyewitness told the British tabloid: “I’ve never seen a jet flying so low over our island before. We’ve seen seaplanes, but I’m sure that this was not one of those. I could even make out the doors on the plane clearly. It’s not just me either, several other residents have reported seeing the exact same thing. Some people got out of their houses to see what was causing the tremendous noise too.”
The Boeing 777 carrying 239 people was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing when it went missing on March 8. Early in the investigation it was revealed that two passengers from Iran were travelling on stolen European passports. That fueled concern that the disappearance was linked to terrorism.

Military avionic expertise was employed to dodge radar for hijacking Malaysian Airlines MH370 Boeing 777, according to officials’ new statements and information that also indicate both the Maldives islanders’ sightings of the low-flying Boeing 777 and thus the Diego Garcia use in the black operation are more probable.
Malaysia Airlines flight 370 was “thrown around like a fighter jet” to dodge radar detection after it “disappeared,” Malaysian military investigators reportedly now believe. This has been reported by the Independent UK in an article, Malaysia Airlines flight MH370: Stricken plane was ‘thrown around like a fighter jet in attempt to dodge radar’
Excessive high-speed, low-flying terraine masking
MH370 plane was “flown very low at a very high speed,” officials are now convinced, according to an unnamed source cited by The Sunday Times.
“And it was being flown to avoid radar,” the source concluded, an admisison the jetliner was terrain masking. Until these new statements, other military officials attempted to cover up terrain masking – ever since the operation began on March 8, as Deborah Dupré reported on March 15 in the article, Malaysia Plane False Flag Military Operation.
Whoever altered the path of the jet, and disabled ACARS and the transponder, “had to be a passenger or crew member who knew how this airliner is flown, and how those systems are disabled, in great detail,” reports stated, avoiding stating the obvious.
The obvious is that hijacking the plane, maybe even flying it remotely as a drone, Obama’s weapon of choice, and kidnapping the passengers (rendering), are CIA and military operations. Not only that, they have become standard operating procedures by the CIA, the US military and allies.
The low altitude flying fits a new report by Malaysia’s New Straits Times newspaper that co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid tried to make a mid-flight phone call shortly before the plane disappeared. For the phone signal to reach the reported telecommunications tower near the Malaysian city of Penang, the plane would needed to have been flying under 7000 feet, the Independent reported.
The newspaper report said the signal ended abruptly before contact was established.
Malaysian Defence Minister and acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein argued that if this is true, he would have been made aware of the phone call much earlier, but was not. Military officials, however, have stated they were afraid to expose what they know, according to statements they made in a Reuters interview last week.
A US military spokesman on national corporate media network ABC News scoffed former theories that the missing plane flew low and at extremely high-speed. These aspects of the hijacking were not what government sponsored networks wanted the public to understand. The U.S. military spokesman, a propaganda contributor for ABC national news, Stephen Ganyard, smiled as he said the idea of the plane flying low to avoid radar would take military precision training that the pilot obviously did not have.
Ganyard also discredited the Malidve islanders in attempt to convince the public that islanders would not know what they saw. In fact, other military officials were also quick to accuse islanders of The Maldives’ lying about their reports of seeing a very low-flying Malaysia Boeing within hours of MH370 leaving Kuala Lumpur.
According to Deborah Dupré’s sources in The Maldives, at least 20 islanders reported to police the sighting, as it was so unusual and frightened them. Police handed over the reports to the military for investigation that were dismissed. [Read: MH370 CIA Cover-Up: Military Tells Malaysia To Say Maldives Lied About Plane Sightings (Map))
In turn, the Malaysia government, seemingly under U.S. government control or threat, attempted to dismiss reports that residents in the Maldives saw the “missing” Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 the day it departed Kuala Lumpur, reflecting that Malaysia is under the tight fist of the United States military and CIA, neither known for telling truth, both notorious for human rights abuses globally, including at Diego Garcia.
Officials admitting this weekend that the plane flew as though by military expertise also concurs with new information that surfaced this weekend regarding Diego Garcia flights for black operations and the Pentagon and the UK repeatedly lying for years about those and people it has kidnapped and taken there.
In this author’s article, New Chilling MH370 Diego Garcia Links, the following is reported, with details:
“While the U.S. has vehemently refuted new claims that Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 landed on Diego Garcia island south of the Maldives in the Central Indian Ocean, new information along with charity organization Reprieve’s previous research shows a sordid history of secret, unrecorded flights to the island, lies about them, torture there, and the British Government’s direct involvement there with the United States, its CIA and military.“More than one independent source has suggested logs of flights through Diego Garcia have been destroyed. However, an examination of records available for four other rendition flights conducted by the same plane (N379P) reveals it routinely operated under various ‘special status designators’ allowing them to fly wherever they liked, whenever they liked, indicating knowledge – and authorisation – at the highest echelons of both US and British governments.” – Reprieve (emphasis added)
Two Malaysia officials separately admitted that MH370 was hijacked. One of those officials pointed to the Pentagon for the crime, including keeping the passengers as hostages.
The latest theory comes as many believe the black box search was nothing more than a diversion and that the plane “disappearing and crashing” was impossible, yet used by corporate-government media as a decoy, a PSYOP, psychological operation.
Batteries of the black boxes, that record flight data, including conversations from the cockpit, only last a month, meaning the window has now passed and investigators must look at facts, instead of chasing plastic bags in the ocean.
The fact remains that no evidence exists that Boeing 777 ever crashed nor that its passengers, worth many billions of dollars in intellectual property, perished. The plane was hijacked, as officials agree. It is illogical to destroy many billions of dollars worth intellectual property.
Whether the jetliner was physically piloted to fly excessively fast and low, or was flown by wire, remotely as a drone, remains unknown. Either is possible.
Whether the 239 MH370 kidnapped passengers are being held as non-combatant detainees or hostages remains unknown. Either is possible.
One thing more certain with the new officials’ admissions, however, is that a giant step has been taken toward locating the hijacked MH370 and its kidnapped passengers.

Did Missing Flight MH370 Land In The Maldives Or Diego Garcia: The Full Updated Summary
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/18/2014 22:58 -0400
Well over a week after the disappearance of flight MH370 – which now is the longest official disappearance of a modern jet in aviation history – with no official trace of the missing plane yet revealed, the investigation, which as we reported over the weekend has focused on the pilots and specifically on Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, earlier today revealed that on his home-made flight simulator had been loaded five Indian Ocean practice runways, among which those of Male in the Maldives, that of the US owned base at Sergio Garcia, as well as other runways in India and Sri Lanka – all notable runways as all are possible landing spots based on the flight’s potential trajectories. The Malay Mail Online reported, “The simulation programmes are based on runways at the Male International Airport in Maldives, an airport owned by the United States (Diego Garcia), and three other runways in India and Sri Lanka, all have runway lengths of 1,000 metres.”
“We are not discounting the possibility that the plane landed on a runway that might not be heavily monitored, in addition to the theories that the plane landed on sea, in the hills, or in an open space,” the source was quoted as saying.
At this point the facts in the case are about as sketchy as any “data” on US Treasury holdings, but here is what was said on the record:
“Although Malay Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein denied yesterday that the plane had landed at US military base Diego Garcia, the source told the daily that this possibility will still be investigated based on the data found in Zaharie’s flight simulator software. The police had seized the flight simulator from the 53-year-old pilot’s house in Shah Alam on Saturday and reassembled it at the police headquarters where experts are conducting checks.”
Previous reports indicated that the plane flew towards Checkpoint Gival, south of the Thai island of Phuket, and was last plotted heading northwest towards another checkpoint, Igrex, used for route P628 that would take it over the Andaman Islands and which carriers use to fly towards Europe.
Still, the Maldives news is of particular note since earlier today, Haaveru Online, quoted locals who said they had seen a “low flying jet” whose description is approximate to what flight MH370 looked like. From the source:
Netanyahu Fascists approves disputed bill making Israel nation-state of Jewish people
Following heated debate, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet has voted in favor of anchoring in law the status of Israel as “the national homeland of the Jewish people,” which critics fear would discriminate the Arab population.
According to the draft law, Israel’s Basic Laws would no longer define it as “Jewish and democratic” country, but as the Nation-State of the Jewish People.
15 Israeli ministers in the cabinet supported the ‘Jewish state bill,’ with only six, including Israeli Justice Minister, Tzipi Livni, saying ‘no’ to the initiative on Sunday.
The bill now has to be approved by the country’s parliament, Knesset, which is scheduled to vote on it on Wednesday.
Netanyahu said that it’s high time to amend the legislation as the idea of Israel being the national homeland of the Jewish people is challenged by many inside and outside the country.
“The Palestinians refuse to recognize this, and there is also opposition from within – there are those who want to establish autonomy in the Galilee and the Negev, and who deny our national rights,” the Prime Minister is cited by Jerusalem Post newspaper.
He assured that the bill won’t give Judaism precedence over democracy, with all Israeli citizens – no mater of their culture and faith – to have equal rights.
“But there are national rights only for the Jewish people: a flag, anthem, the right of every Jew to immigrate to Israel, and other national symbols,” Netanyahu added.
However, the critics have called the proposal “anti-democratic,” expressing concerns that it would legalize discrimination against 1.7 million Arabs living in Israel.
The debate before the cabinet vote was so intense that shouting and arguing could be heard outside the closed-door meeting, a cabinet source told Jerusalem Post paper.
Netanyahu reportedly accused those, who spoke out against the ‘Jewish state bill,’ of being weak and hypocritical.
But Livni argued that the PM intentionally came up with a draft law that she and her supporters would surely vote against so that “you can fire us.”
Netanyahu banged on the table and said “it can’t be that Arabs can live in Jewish towns, but Jews can’t live in Arab towns. A country within a country is developing.”
Israel’s Arab minority, comprised of descendants of the Palestinians, who didn’t leave their land when Israel was established in 1948, make up around 20 per cent of the country’s population.
If the ‘Jewish state bill’ becomes law, it would mean “the institutionalization of racism, which is already a reality on the street, in both law and at the heart of the political system,” Majd Kayyal from Adalah, Legal Centre for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, told AFP.
“Democracy guarantees that all citizens have the same rights and are equal before the state but this racist change introduces a distinction on the basis of religion,” he added.
Israel’s Evolution towards a Fascist Racist State
Review of “Goliath – Life and loathing in Greater Israel” by Max Blumenthal, Nation Books, 2013
This is a powerfully written book, a mixture of current events, historical data, and personal anecdotal comments and stories. Throughout there are pervasive themes that clearly outline the nature of the Israeli state as it exists today. From May 2009 up to early 2013, Max Blumenthal passed “many prolonged stays in the Holy Land,” from which he derived this current assessment.
The over-riding themes, and they all tend to intermingle within the right wing ideologies of the Netanyahu/Leiberman government, are all based on the demographic threat that Israel perceives to be the main problem – and indeed acknowledges to be, and has always been seen as a problem from the earliest Zionists.
While in the past there were some at least minimally effective two-country advocates, the current situation has developed into one of over-riding racist state fascism. This expresses itself in the ongoing settlements developments, now more overtly antagonistic to the Palestinians, the many race based laws prohibiting Palestinian participation in society, accompanied by overt acts of racism to Palestinians and African refugees, and open expressions of hostility indicating the desire to simply get rid of both groups.
The idea of a “Jewish and democratic state” also comes to a crashing halt as there are many instances of political leaders essentially indicating that they would choose Jewishness before democracy.
The first section of the work provides the current events background that gives rise to the Netanyahu/Leiberman government. Blumenthal quotes Netanyahu as telling Israelis “To steel themselves for ‘an ongoing national exertion and the possibility of periodic bouts of international confrontation.’” He says this summarizes “the colonial logic animating his approach to the Palestinians and rationalizing it to the outside world.”
Blumenthal continues from there, discussing various domestic laws, the banning of certain books, the use of IDF and Shin Bet personnel to control the education system, the rise of security overcoming democratic concerns, and the gradual erosion of the Supreme Court in face of Zionistic fascism within the “tribalistic culture.” The much more open and hostile racial and fascistic comments keep coming, the national disguising of the news as in the Mavi Marmara incident, the effects of the national propaganda in keeping with the Knesset resets shows “the end of democracy is an inevitable outcome,” while the “occupation is hidden behind all these layers of fake democracy.”
The next section recalls the violence of the occupation, demonstrating that with the current events within the West Bank and in Gaza, the Days of ‘48 have come again, now with a “fascist government that has proven itself capable of massacring the unarmed.” That violence all comes back to ethnic/racial identity “that is the basis of apartheid.” A quick review of the initial attacks of 1948 and the original quotes of that era survive: “there is no room in the country for both people;” and “Not one village must be left, not one tribe.”
The holocaust is another theme throughout the book as it has become a theme of daily Israeli life, brought back as an excuse to continue their own violence towards others. Yet, as seen by a few, “We perpetuate death, and that’s why we will never become a normal people.”
The military is another obvious centralizing theme throughout the work. It covers the main part of two chapters, and its overall pervasiveness creates “a colonial culture in which Jewish Israeli youth become conditioned to act as sadistic overlords toward their Palestinian neighbours, and of a perpetual conquest that demanded indoctrination begin at an early age and continue perpetually throughout their lives.” The military has become the “most important institution of socialization and indoctrination” in Israeli society. Within that institution are the wellsprings of the misogynist nature of society and the highly sexualised nature of the racial taunts.
But even more powerful than the military, in liaison with it, religious nationalism now trumps both the military and justice systems. From this extreme right group now in control lie the “harbingers of wild racial violence in the future.” Part of this future are “concentration camps…erected by the Israeli rulers” as foreseen by Yeshayahu Leibowitz. The criminalizing of refugees – Palestian and the blacks from the Sudan – demonstrates “a harrowing vision of what was possible when the government chose to tap into the public’s unfathomably deep wellspring of prejudice.”
Towards the end of the book, Blumenthal discusses the wall mentality – the security wall, the Gaza walls, the walls of the Sinai, the new walls along the Jordanian border and with Syria. Some realize, “This is our future…we’ve become a frightened nation that imprisons itself behind fences and retreats into defensive walls,” making “increasingly rigid psychological barriers.”
In his final view, Blumenthal shows that the sexualized racial taunting, the overt racial violence, is “an increasingly common feature of Israeli political language” in “the adventurous world of Israeli proto-fascism….The status quo…so entrenched, and the occupation…so manageable, [they] no longer felt compelled to mask their agenda with disingenuous appeals to Western opinions….Annexing the West Bank had finally entered the mainstream.”
One final irony highlighted itself: thirteen per cent of Israeli citizens now live outside the country. They tend to be the affluent, educated, secular and liberal younger members of Israeli society. The irony is strengthened in that Berlin has become one of the main expatriate colonies, where the Israelis go to find an open liberal more free environment to live.
Israel currently maintains diplomatic and trade relationships with many other countries, much of that on a military/security level. The image of Israel presented in Goliath is one of a fearful, arrogant, racist, non-democratic state controlled by a select right wing group. It has captured the media, the military, the Knesset and the justice system into one over-riding racialized fascist theocracy, far removed from any democracy, perpetuating its systems of fear in order to keep power intact.
Goliath is a powerful and distressing book for a view on what life in modern Israel is like.

A new report on Palestinian and Israeli school books has elicited much debate (“Israel shoots back: ‘Look beyond the textbooks,’” The Times of Israel, 6 February).
The report — by academics in Tel Aviv, Bethlehem and the American university Yale — is short. Yet it raises some poignant questions (“Victims of our own narratives? Portrayal of the other in Israeli and Palestinian school books,” Council of Religious Institutions of the Holy Land, 4 February [PDF]).
Israeli educators who hastened to pronounce it biased were quite right. Such a study cannot be symmetrical, for it examines two education systems, one of which is entirely subjugated to the other. A reminder of this situation is found in the introduction of the report. It notes that the Wye River Memorandum — signed between Israel and the Palestinian Authority in 1998 — included an “explicit statement about incitement.”
The agreement states that “the Palestinian side would issue a decree prohibiting all forms of incitement to violence or terror, and establishing mechanisms for acting systematically against all expressions or threats of violence or terror. This decree would be comparable to the existing Israeli legislation which deals with the same subject.”
No such caution is mentioned with regard to the Israeli regime of occupation, even though Israel is regularly taken to task by the United Nations for its aggressive behavior.
As textbook researcher Samira Alayan from the Georg Eckert Institute for the Study of Textbooks has shown, Palestinian textbooks are severely controlled and censored not only by Israel but also by European and American bodies that finance their production (see an abstract of the book: “Images of identity: Self and other in school text books of the Palestinian Authority,” June 2011 [PDF]).
Nevertheless, the new report prides itself for having engaged “objective” evaluators who come from the US and Europe, although the US denies tourist visas to most Palestinians — including the ambassador of the PA to the European Union, Leila Shahid, who was not allowed to attend the New York session of the Russell Tribunal on Palestine in October last year — and many European states and companies profit from the occupation of Palestine. Why not recruit evaluators from Pakistan or South Africa?
The report relies on content analysis but neglects the ways in which the content — both visual and written — is used to persuade readers of its ideological message. For instance, it praises Israeli textbooks for relating the details of massacres but does not discuss how these books try to legitimize the massacres as part of the “big picture” — to Israel’s benefit.
One Israeli textbook, we are told, acknowledges that most of the Palestinians killed by Zionist forces in the village of Deir Yassin, near Jerusalem, in 1948 were women, children or elderly. Yet the book cites claims that the victims died because they refused to leave their homes and that the massacre “still serves as an excuse for Arab propaganda against Israel.”
This excuse bears a chilling similarity to the one used by Israel when it subjected Gaza to a three-week bombing campaign in late 2008 and early 2009. And this excuse is not confined to one work. The 2009 book Israeli Nationalism and Nation: Building a State in the Middle East — by Eyal Naveh, Naomi Vered and David Shahar — stated that the residents of Deir Yassin failed to evacuate their village because the loud-speaker from which they were supposed to receive a warning was not functioning properly.
Taboo of occupation
Two main categories are missing from the analysis: occupation and racist discourse. Perhaps that is why describing the dire facts of the occupation seemed to involve “negative characterization of Israelis” to the researchers.
Israeli school books do not address the occupation because their message is that there is no occupation. They inculcate what sociologist Stanley Cohen — in his 2002 book States of Denial: Knowing About Atrocities and Suffering — termed the “Zionist kitsch” about the eternal historical rights of the Jews on the whole land of Israel and Palestine. This explains why the researchers behind this study were offended by how Palestinians use the term “colonialism” to describe Zionist settlement on their land. In Israeli mainstream books, illegal settlements like Ariel or Alon Shvut are presented as no different to Tel Aviv.
The green line — the 1949 armistice line separating Israel from the territories captured in 1967 — is never shown or discussed. The only Israeli geography book I found that discusses the issue of the green line is Sfat Hamapa (The language of maps) by P. Dina (published in 1996).
Since racist “teaching tools” of a visual or verbal nature are not part of the analysis presented in this study, racist Israeli representations of Palestinians are reported to be “neutral.” Since Palestinians are never presented in Israeli textbooks as persons like us — modern professionals — only as negative stereotypes of terrorists, nomads and primitive farmers, one must conclude that these racist representations seemed “neutral” to the researchers and to the “objective” western evaluators.
The report concludes that the books on both sides fail to relate the “better times” when there were good relationships between Arabs and Israelis. This must refer either to the good relationships between Jews and Muslims in Morocco, Tunisia and Iraq, prior to the “redemption” of Zionism — a reality Zionist education in Israel has always done its utmost to conceal — or to the years between 1967 and 1987 when oppression of Palestinians was considered by Israelis to involve an “enlightened occupation.” I found one reminder of that “idyllic” time in a geography book published a decade ago but still used — Israel: The Man and The Space by Zvia Fine, Meira Segev and Raheli Lavi: “Some of the foreign workers are Palestinians who come from the areas controlled by the Palestinian authorities. They are employed in unprofessional jobs and their wages are lower than that those of the Israeli citizens who work in the same jobs … This is characteristic of all developed countries.”
The conclusions of the new study reflect the Israeli bon ton that brought the success of Yair Lapid in the recent elections — to wrap up Arabs and Orthodox Jews together and slander them. But, as usual, there can be no comparison.
While Orthodox Jewish textbooks present Arabs — all of them — as evil forces, a sort of biblical Amalek we must eliminate with the help of God, Palestinian textbooks never resort to such discourse. They respect Judaism as one of the three monotheistic religions but relate — as accurately as they can under so much censorship — the true and horrid facts of life under Israeli military rule.
The new study — or at least the part that has been published — seems quite problematic and biased but not in the way Israel is trying to spin it. Let’s hope the full study, when published, will clear up some of this confusion.

Chuck Hagel has been fired by Obama from his position as Defense Secretary. Hagel, a former GOP Senator, was appointed by Obama in early 2013 and therefore was scheduled to serve for the entirety of Obama’s second term.
Prior to his appointment, Hagel is said to have visited the White House in 2009, and personally warned Obama that he should look out for rogue elements within the Pentagon that were leading a ‘new world order’.
This was not reported on some internet conspiracy forum, it was a leading report published shortly before Hagel’s appointment, by Bob Woodward, an award winning journalist and associate editor with The Washington Post.
According to an account that Hagel gave, he told Obama: “We are at a time where there is a new world order.”
“We don’t control it. You must question everything, every assumption, everything they” — the military and diplomats — “tell you. Any assumption 10 years old is out of date. You need to question our role. You need to question the military. You need to question what are we using the military for.” Hagel is said to have told the President.
The Post report also stated that Hagel warned Obama about becoming “bogged down” in the ongoing war in Afghanistan, saying it would define Obama’s first term. Hagel reportedly later privately questioned the wisdom of sending additional troops to join the conflict.
“If Hagel is confirmed, as appears likely, he and the president will have a large task in navigating this new world order.” The Post report concluded at the time.
It remains to be discovered as to whether or not Hagel attempted to oust the rogue elements within the military industrial complex. The last straw for Hagel, though, may have been comments he made last week during a sit down interview with Charlie Rose at the Pentagon.
During the exchange, Hagel expressed a belief that US military action against ISIS was “indirectly benefiting” the Syrian President Bashar Assad, comments that were sure to have been unwelcome by the powers that be, given its push for airstrikes against the Syrian government last year.
Hagel also said that “The world is damn dangerous,” adding that the US military is unprepared.
Hagel criticized defense budget cuts and stated outright “We won’t have the readiness. We won’t have the capability. We won’t have long-term investments that this institution requires to stay ahead of everybody else, as we have since World War II, with the technological edge, with the ability to continue to recruit and retain the best people.”
Hagel was also critical of US foreign policy, noting that “policies are predicated on historical knowledge and cultural awareness and all that goes into that. Have we made mistakes over a series of many years? Yeah, I think we have. I think anybody would agree to that.”
In short, Hagel is no longer in a job because he alluded to rogue globalist elements within the US military, criticized the long imperial march to war, and admitted to detrimental blowback in the ‘war on terror’. Yeah, that’ll do it.
President Eisenhower warned America first in his 1961 farewell speech:
We know that Israel is the private kingdom of America’s and Democracy’s greatest enemies. When will we decapitate the Rothschild and Rockefeller global mafia families ? The New World Order is nothing new, it is the Zionist agenda to dominate the world vis a vis the tyranny of capital and false flag terrorism. The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion is their blueprint, and the Illuminati puppet masters are already in firm control America’s government and military. Slavery and eugenic depopulation under the totalitarian surveillance police state is their plan for all save the billionaires and their private army.

The video below is an interview with Investigative reporter Greg Palast regarding his 2012 book Billionaires and Ballot Bandits: How to Steal an Election in 9 Easy Steps. Palast is best known for exposing the fake “ex-felon” scrub list that illegally disqualified tens of thousands of law abiding Florida African Americans from voting in the 2000 presidential election.
According to Palast, the real agenda behind the Citizens United decision was to keep the notorious Koch brothers** out of jail for illegal corporate donations they had made to Republican campaigns. In other words, the ruling decriminalized extensive lawbreaking by the Republican Party’s favorite billionaires. Apparently it’s was no accident that Ted Olsen, the Citizens United attorney, also happens to be legal counsel for Koch Industries.
